Spring Writing Contest
The Furious Gazelle wants you to enter our Spring 2019 writing contest! Write away the dark nights of winter all the way into spring, and possibly win some money.
When: Submissions will be open from now until June 1, 2019 11:59 p.m. ET
What can you get? The Winner of the Spring 2019 contest will receive $50 and a book in the genre of their choosing (the book is US-only, but if you live in another country we will make sure to send you another delightful surprise).
All finalists will be published on thefuriousgazelle.com (which offers a priceless amount in bragging rights) and in a special print edition of the contest winners!
This year, the Spring contest will be free to enter. Please send your submission to firstname.lastname@example.org with SPRING CONTEST + your name in the subject line.
The theme for this contest is fury. Interpret that theme however strictly or loosely you’d like. Is there a subject that fills you with rage? A short story filled with fiery passion? A Nick Fury fanfic you’ve been slaving away on? We want to see the best of your best.
We accept all genres of writing, and up to five pieces, totaling 5,000 words or under, from a single entrant. If submitting multiple entries, please send each separately. Submissions should be sent as a .docx or .doc.
For the second time, we’re offering a chance to receive constructive criticism about your entry. Constructive criticism is a great way to learn how to become a stronger writer. We will provide three lines of feedback: what we liked, what could be working better, techniques you could consider using to strengthen your story.

Please direct any questions to email@example.com with “QUESTION” in your subject line.
