2018 Spring Writing Contest
The Furious Gazelle wants you to enter our Spring 2018 writing contest! Write away the dark nights of winter all the way into spring, and possibly win some money.
Thanks to BookCon this weekend, we’ve been feeling extra bookish so we will now be accepting submissions through JUNE 9th 2018 at 11:59PM EST.
There’s still time, good luck.
When: Submissions will be open from February 1, 2018 –
June 1, 2018.*
What can you get? The Winner of the Spring 2018 contest will receive $50 and a book in the genre of their choosing (the book is US-only, but if you live in another country we will make sure to send you another delightful surprise).
All finalists will be published on thefuriousgazelle.com (which offers a priceless amount in bragging rights) and in a special print edition of the contest winners!
You must first pay a reading fee of $3.00 usd and there are two ways to do this:
2- We are also offering a first come, first serve, special offer- buying one of our newly released print magazines- a collection of last year’s contest winners- will also include an entry to this contest! You can do that here.
What that $3 includes:
$3 buys you 5 entries to the contest, totaling 5000 words or under.
Use that however you want, for example send a 4900 word short story and a 100 word flash piece, or send 5 poems, or 3 poems and 2 stories, the possibilities are endless. Please direct any questions to email@example.com.
There is no theme for this contest. We want to see the best of your best. The only rules are that we are only considering the written word- no spoken word videos, or other visual art please.
We accept all genres of writing, and up to five pieces, totaling 5,000 words or under, from a single entrant. If submitting multiple entries, please send each separately. Submissions should be sent as a .docx or .doc.
